TGiF Coming Soon!

I would just like to apologise for not posting thank god it's friday yesterday...but seriously, this time it's really not my fault. I was on a school trip all day (from 5am-11pm) so I couldn't really come on to update.

Thank God It's Friday #6

my new poster <3

· Amazon deliveries. My new Joker poster is so amazing that I’m actually going to get a frame for it! The Joker is one of the best villans of all time, Heath Ledger (RIP) was amazing the The Dark Knight. Paradise Lost also came-that was so amazing. I can’t b believe that I have to wait till September to get the next book =( The author always leaves it on these massive cliff-hangers that make me scream out loud. Oh, and Fruits Basket 21 came (at last) and that was amazing. I think that was actually one of the best books in the series because it was so emotional. I have to wait for it to come out in America before I can get it shipped over here to I can read the next book…I’ve figured out that I’ve spent (so far) £147 buying all the books!

· Finished reading Out. Ha, carrying on from books, Olivia lent me this to read when I went round her house a couple of weeks ago. Basically, it’s about a woman who kills her husband and her friends who help her get rid of the body. I know that sounds horrific and/or boring but it’s not I promise. It’s amazing!

· Heroes got renewed. That means that there’s officially going to be a fourth series!! Hopefully it’s going to be as good as the first one…

· Yoga. On Thursday our form had a chance to do yoga for an hour. It was actually really, really good! I could do all the stretches which surprised me and I also found out that I have really stretchy hamstrings =) at the end the instructor said that I was ‘particularly good’. That for me is like WOW because I’m not that good at anything physical. I think it’s partly because I do this thing called ‘Pilates’ which is kind of like yoga except it’s really good for your back (which is why I do it).

· Boys over flowers. This show makes me wish that I could speak Korean!! I can’t really explain much about it right now because I’m only on episode two but so far it’s going really good. It’s about this girl called Jan Di who saves a student who attended the elite Shinhwa High School from commiting suicide. In return she gets granted a scholarship to go there. In the school there’s this gang called the F4 (flower four) and the members and Jun Pyo, Ji Hoo, Yi Jeong and the other guy with the brown hair who’s name I can’t remember. Anyway, these guys pretty much run the school and without giving it away to much, Jan Di (the girl) gets into trouble with the F4…Seriously, you should watch it. It’s actually pretty hilarious so far.

Wanna tell me about your week?

Thank God It's Friday #5

The Simpsons will never get old =)

· Scream 4. Yes, yes and thrice yes. That was a really weird thing to type…Scream is coming back for round for!! Seriously, if you haven’t seen Scream yet then you should because it is a must watch. It is one of the greatest scary movies of all time. David Arquette, Courteney Cox and Neve Campbell have all been made cameo offers for this film so hopefully they’ll accept them. Oh, and the original screenwriter Kevin Williamson is returning but the director Wes Craven will only do the film if the script is as good as the first one was. Fingers crossed…

· The Simpsons to become the longest running TV show. Ever! How cool is that? Fox has orders two more seasons of The Simpsons, which will make it the longest running series in primetime TV history! This will mean that there will be 493 episodes for you to enjoy.

· Street power failure. Well, yesterday my whole road had a power cut! It lasted about an hour and a half, and we had had to go to Sainsbury’s to get candles. I felt really medieval walking around with my dim light…

· Saying ‘Hi’ to a random 6th former. Basically, I was in my form’s cloakroom getting my bag for PE, when this random 6th former comes skipping along. She stopped like right in front of me and (for some reason that I do not know) I just stared at her for about five seconds. I think it was because I felt like I’d seen her before, which is likely because I probably would’ve seen her walking around. After that awkward moment, I smiled really brightly and said ‘Hi. Then she was like, ‘hi. How are you?’ in a really cheerful voice too, which I replied ‘fine, thank you.’ Then I just walked back to my form room. Bizarre or what? I bet she thinks I’m a freak now…but it did feel nice making a random person smile like that.

· Smiling at people on the bus. This is a kind of follow on story from the one above but it’s turned into a theme now so…Today I got on the bus and there weren’t any two-seaters free so I sat next to this girl. She pressed the bell for her stop but I didn’t know where it was so I didn’t know when I should get up to let her out. I didn’t want to get up to early in case she had to stand up waiting for a long time for her stop to come. On the other hand, I didn’t want to get out of the way too late because then she would have to rush to get off the bus. So, I sat there with this turmoil inside me so I just blurted out, without me realising that I was saying it, ‘I don’t really know when I should get up for you…’ and she laughed and I laughed. Then she said, ‘its ok, I’ll tell you when.’ And when it was time she told me, I got up for her, and then she got off the bus. So, yeah, I made a friend.

So, my tip is to try smiling at people around you more. It shows off your radiance and some people really appreciate it. You never know, you smiling at them could be the highlight of their day (plus, it’s a really friendly thing to do anyway). I personally love it when people smile at me because so many people just look away if you make eye contact with them.

Anything good you want to share this week?

Stress Busting

Stress is something that I feel I have to deal with more often than I should. Most stress that I feel is normally unnecessary and could’ve been avoided. Stress also happens to be the emotion that I know I’m going to go through in the end, yet I still don’t take the action necessary to avoid it. Right now, is quite a stressful time for me so I thought that I’d share with you guys a couple of my stress busting tips. Enjoy!

Organisation

I actually think that this the key to avoiding stress. Organising yourself is simple and quick-at most, it’ll only take a few minutes of your time. The way that I like to stay organised is by making lists. I make a list daily just for the sole purpose of remaining organised! You don’t even have to right them down, you can just make a list mentally but I get a certain satisfaction out of crossing something off my list. I love how it looks when every single item on there has a line through it, it makes me realise that I’ve achieved what I wanted to (sometimes more) and makes me feel super-duper happy.

For more information on this check out my article on time management! Also, I always find that it’s easier if you break things up into bits e.g. instead of saying ‘I want to finish this whole essay today’ how about instead saying ‘I want to finish half of my essay today and/or plan the rest of it so that I can write it up tomorrow’. This way the task looks more appealing and you’ve allowed yourself more time to do it in so the quality of your work should be higher (because you haven’t rushed it).

Herbal Tea

Maybe it’s just me but I really find that a cup of anything herbal really does relax me! Something about it I guess…

Me (well, you) Time

So, so, so important. This one is actually a MUST. If you don’t have time just for yourself then I’m ordering you to make some NOW. If you don’t you will surely go insane. My ‘me’ time is normally right before I go to bed; I like to unwind by writing all the events of that day, my current emotions and whatever else I want to in my diary. It really gives me a chance to reflect on my day and how I feel and also it’s my uninterrupted alone time where I can just be me, with me!

So there’s a couple of my ways to bust my stress. Have you got any other tips you’d like to share? Comment me.

Hugs,
Chinny xx

Thank God It's Friday #4

Slumdog Millionaire is an amazing film.

Okay, so I have no other excuse than I forgot. Next week I promise this thing will get posted on time! Seeing as I didn’t post last week, this weeks TGiF will be extra long because I’m going to add the things that I’ve loved for the past two weeks.

• Ordering stuff from Amazon. Amazon is like my online home…well not really, that’s actually Perez Hilton…but I buy all my books from Amazon online. Some may say that’s kind of weird because how am I supposed to know about new books; it’s not like going to a bookstore and seeing all the titles on the shelf. Well, Amazon have these really cool sections called ‘Inspired by Your Wish List’, ‘Recommended for You’, ‘Treat Yourself’, ‘New for You’ and ‘For You to Enjoy’. These basically show you all the stuff you might be interested in and what’s relevant or linked to what you buy/ look at on the site so it’s a really good way to find new stuff to buy.

• Lady Gaga’s music video for ‘Eh, Eh’. This video is so different from all of her other ones but it’s still really good. I like it. A lot. This week, Lady Gaga also dropped her new video for ‘Love Game’ (which is kick ass song by the way) but the music video is not really my thing. Watch it and tell me what you think!

• Valentines day. Wow, for once I actually had a valentine (several acutallly) and got some presents! Much love to Helen, Elena and Ria for the awesome cards and gifts ;). But the biggest surprise of the day was my brother giving me and my mum and card saying ‘Just to say that I love you more than the whole world xx’!

• Half term. Yeah baby!! I had this plan to do Asdan (this really long thing) everyday but that didn’t really happen. I’ve been going to bed late, waking up late, watching TV all day, going on the computer all day…just generally enjoying the good life. Back to school next week *groans*.

• Slumdog Millionaire. Just one word; Amazing. If you haven’t seen it yet, what on earth are you waiting for?

• Family Guy ‘Bales Out’. Remember how in the last TGiF I wrote about how Christian Bale freaked out? Well this is him freaking out in Family Guy.

• Christian Bale takes David to the dentist. WATCH THIS!!! So funny…it never gets old.

What have you enjoyed these past two weeks?

Thank God It’s Friday 3#

Me and my best friend =). We had alot of fun in the snow!

Well today’s actually Saturday…sorry for that. I was extremely busy on Friday doing my hair (it takes hours) and unfortunately I didn’t have time to update Teen Guides. Anyway, here are the things that I’ve particularly loved this week.

· Bale Out aka The Christian Bale freak-out remix! Basically, on the set of Christian Bale’s movie, Terminator: Salvation, he got mad at the director of photography for adjusting a light while he was filming a scene. He had…um, words...with the director of photography but he used one certain word beginning with ‘f’ a shocking 35 times!!! It’s a bit unpleasant to listen to but luckily Lucian Piane has turned Bale’s verbal tirade into a dance track. Seriously, this song will have you dancing about all day. Here's the link to his myspace where you can listen to the song. This is the download link.

· Snow!! On Monday and Tuesday there was no school because the amount of snow that fell overnight made it impossible to get too. I think it was the first time in my school’s history that it closed when it wasn’t a weekend or teacher training. My friend Caitlin (in the picture above) walked an hour through the snow to my house just so that she could see me. How cute/lovely/adorable was that?!

· Facebook! Okay, so I know I’m a bit late on the social networking front but I always thought what’s the point when most of the people I speak to I see at school anyway? But now I know just how fun online networking is! Facebook’s great for keeping up with what everyone’s doing because most things that get posted also show up on your home screen. It’s also a lovely way to comment on other people’s pictures and status’s. Instant Messaging is still the best though.

·American pancakes. After watching episode three of 90210 I had a sudden craving for pancakes. This was especially weird because for the past three years I’ve absolutely hated pancakes with passion. So I found a recipe for American style pancakes on the BBC website and gave it ago and they were actually alright. I wouldn’t give them up for chocolate or anything but they were actually pretty tasty. Only problem is that about half way through my second pancake I thought ‘ew, I’m eating a pancake’ and that kinda put me off a bit…

Is there anything that you've particularly enjoyed this week?
